She asked if anybody wanted to make these (on twitter) and a bunch of us decided to make them last weekend.
I don't know for sure who all ended up making them, but there were a few of us who were inspired to try these.

Then the dough is rolled out, filled with cinnamon-sugar mix (I used the one from these Quick Cinnamon Biscuits-love the hint of nutmeg), chopped crystallized ginger (I couldn't find any, so I had to leave this out), and dried cranberries.
I made half of mine with the dried cranberries and half without.
Then you cut it into rolls and let it rise again.
I cut my into rolls and the popped them in the fridge overnight. The next morning, I let them rise baked them.
I had some leftover cream cheese icing, so I just added a little milk and thinned it enough to drizzle and had that on top.
The verdict- these were good. Not too pumpkin-y. I was hoping for a little bit more pumpkin flavor, but overall these were a good cinnamon roll.
I still got 8 rolls, even though I halved the recipe. Give 'em a try!

I've made pumpkin cinnamon rolls before with the same issue. They're yummy but I just can't get enough pumpkin flavor to come through. Yours looks sooo yummy, it makes me want to try again!
ReplyDeleteThese look so good! I think I may have to try these!
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough of all the pumpkin appearances in the blogosphere. I think this is one of my favs!
ReplyDeleteI just love a good cinnamon roll, but the addition of pumpkin is just amazing! What a great recipe and perfect for Fall. Your photos are stellar as usual!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were just talking about making pumpkin cinnamon rolls! I'm so excited to make them!
ReplyDeleteCream cheese icing sounds like a perfect match for delicious pumpkin rolls!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would like ginger in my pumpkin cinnamon roll- but I sure do think cranberries would be delish! Love the idea of a cream cheese frosting rather than the old confectioners sugar one.
ReplyDeletePumpkiny or not they look delicious!
ReplyDeleteYour rolls are beautiful and I'll bet very tasty with a cream cheese glaze. Usually pumpkin baked goods that aren't very pumpkin-y annoy me (eg pumpkin cheesecake - just give me pumpkin pie) but these were the best cinnamon rolls I've baked, so I can forgive the fact that the pumpkin wasn't strong.
ReplyDeleteThose look scrumptious!! I made some last year I found on Lori's blog, Recipe Girl, and they were awesome!
ReplyDeleteThese look so yummy for the Fall! I love the addition of the cranberries-what a great combination. These are a must try!!
ReplyDeletePretty pictures! I made them, too. I thought they were just okay. I guess I was hoping for more Pumpkin flavor, too. The guys who ate them all LOVED them, though. And thinned cream cheese frosting?? YUM!!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I love cinnamon rolls and pretty much anything pumpkin. I know I would love these!
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious with the pumpkin. Not sure how you could increase the taste of the pumpkin in a yeast bread. I actually love the cinnamon rolls that they sell at Ikea. Not exactly bakery quality but good enough for how fast they disappear in our home:)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun way to bake with pumpkin. I think I might give this one a try!
ReplyDeleteI've never even considered pumpkin cinnamon rolls! These look great. I might have to try them.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your rolls look amazing Mary Ann! I'm so glad you decided to try them :) I still need to post mine but it probably won't happen until early next week. I agree with your assessment on these - not too much pumpkin flavor. I really enjoyed them anyway though!
ReplyDeleteThese look absolutely yummy! I have yet to make Pumpkin Cinnamon rolls but I am making it a goal to do THIS fall! I will follow suit with you and halve the recipe. With just Grumpy and me, 8 is more than enough!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this recipe..they look very good! I love this time of year cus you get to bake more and pumpkin is the perfect ingredient!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog and I have to say these pumpkin cinnamon rolls look amazing! I can just smell them from here but I wonder since you said they were not strong in pumpkin flavor, does that mean we have to use more pumpkin puree?
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific roll. I love the combination of ingredients! :D
ReplyDeletemy hubby is allergic to cinnamon. can you tell my the best way to tweak this recipe so he does not get left out at dessert time?
